Sciatica

Sciatica
Sciatica is the term used for irritation of the sciatic nerve, which travels from the pelvis, down the legs to the feet.  Symptoms can include pain, pins and needles or numbness and muscle weakness. The most common cause of sciatica is a prolapsed or slipped disc but it can also be caused by inflammation of soft tissues, bony changes due to arthritis and, less commonly, tumours or infection.
