Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is localised pain on the outside of the elbow. Despite its name it is not only caused by tennis! Additional causes are other racquet sports, repetitive gripping, e.g. using secateurs and overuse or unaccustomed use of the wrist and elbow e.g. prolonged painting.

What can Petersfield Physio do to help Tennis Elbow?

Tennis elbow is notoriously difficult to treat and can last for months. Electrotherapy aims to improve the circulation to the area to speed up the healing process, deep tissue frictions free up tight tissues and stimulate an inflammatory response, acupuncture can ease pain and taping or use of a splint can offload painful structures.
