PPASIC Coronavirus Update – July 2020
It seems like only yesterday that I let you all know that I was opening up for face-to-face treatments again! Unfortunately, however, I have had to stop seeing patients myself for a while as one of my family members has a health issue and we have had to go back into strict lockdown.
However I am delighted to introduce a new member to the PPASIC team. Sam Pryor will be taking over the face-to-face treatments at the clinic from Monday 6th July and will be with us for 4 months. Sam has a wealth of experience treating back and neck problems, sports injuries and rehabilitation following orthopaedic operations. I am confident that he will look after you as well as you expect to be treated at Petersfield Physio.
I am still available for online consultations via Zoom or telephone calls, and this remains the first line of treatment. However, we have been in lockdown for a long time so if you have tried self-help advice, pain relief and exercises, and are still unable to manage your symptoms, or you are getting worse, then Sam will be delighted to help you with hands-on treatment.
As before, all patients will be screened prior to their appointment for any COVID symptoms. I now have a questionnaire which must be completed before your appointment. This will either be emailed to you to complete and return or will be done over the phone before your appointment.
All patients will be required to wear a face mask and disposable gloves and be prepared to have their temperature taken, with a non-contact thermometer, on arrival.
The clinic will be fully cleaned after each visit and appointments will be spaced to ensure there is no overlap of patients.
Doors and windows will remain open where practical and a 2m distance will be maintained for as much of the treatment session as possible.
Sam will be wearing full PPE for all treatment sessions which will be either single-use or cleaned in accordance with PHE guidelines.
I am sure that Sam will quickly become a very popular and valued therapist. I do hope you will give him your full support and book an appointment to see him if the need arises. In the meantime stay safe and well and I look forward to returning to the clinic towards the end of the year.
“It’s a Joint Process”
I have been delighted with the excellent professional advice and very high level of personalised care I have experienced at the PPASIC since Gerry O’Neill was recommended to me by my GP.
Gerry’s a complete star in my book! I was in a lot of pain. She listened intently to my issues, was patient and methodical in her diagnosis and got quickly to treatment. One of the things I like best in her approach is that your treatment is carried out very much in partnership – you’re not just being ‘done to’. Her treatment quickly resolved my pain and her advice & guidance put me on a rapid path to permanent recovery so she’s not needed any more – an attitude I’ve rarely experienced from this area of professions.
Gerry works miracles. Having suffered from painful Achilles for years (and with a previous rupture),I assumed nothing could really be done. Gerry fixed that in just two treatments. Not only does she inspire complete confidence, she is a pleasure to work with.
PPASIC Coronavirus Policy

Have you travelled to mainland Europe, China, Iran or the US in the last 14 days?
Have you any reason to believe you have been in contact with anyone who…
