It is located very close to the Sciatic Nerve and if the muscle becomes tight or injured and goes into spasm, it can compress the nerve. It is more common in sports involving strenuous leg activity in a sitting position e.g. rowing or cycling. The symptoms are similar to those of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.petersfield-physio-clinic.co.uk\/treatments-services\/treatments\/sciatica\/\">Sciatica<\/a><\/strong> and Piriformis syndrome can be confused with a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.petersfield-physio-clinic.co.uk\/treatments-services\/treatments\/slipped-disc\/\">slipped disc<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><u>What can Petersfield Physio do to help Piriformis Syndrome?<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Correct diagnosis is essential to ensure the right treatment is given.
